In order to strengthen the management of the source of radio transmission equipment, prevent and crack down on illegal radio transmission equipment entering the sales market, and ensure the safety of national electromagnetic space and peoples lives and property, the National Radio Office recently issued the "Notice on Establishing a System for Sales and Inspection of Radio Transmission Equipment" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice").
As the source of radio signals, radio transmission equipment has been widely penetrated into various fields of the national economy and society, especially in the era of the Internet of Things, with its number showing explosive growth, in the context of the continuous development of radio technology and applications. However, at the same time, the illegal sales and use of wireless transmission equipment are gradually increasing, and there is still a lack of effective regulatory means and systematic management systems in the current market circulation process. Therefore, establishing a sales inspection system is of great significance, as it can strengthen the entire process management of radio transmission equipment, prevent and reduce radio interference hazards from the source, and maintain air radio wave order.
Since 2022, the National Radio Office has organized radio management agencies in various regions to carry out pilot sales and inspections of radio transmission equipment networks nationwide. As of now, more than 100 types of wireless transmission equipment have been inspected, including various communication equipment, office equipment, smart home appliances, smart wearables, etc., covering more than 1600 models and mainstream network platforms, involving over 1000 online stores. During this process, more than 400 clues were discovered regarding the sale of illegally imported equipment, unapproved model sales, failure to handle sales records, and illegal sale of radio shields, GPS jammers, and drone countermeasures. These clues were verified and dealt with in accordance with the law, effectively cracking down on the illegal sale of radio transmission equipment and regulating market sales order.
On the basis of the pilot project, the National Radio Office issued a notice clarifying the specific content of sales inspection work, stipulating the content, method, frequency, etc. of online and offline sales inspection, urging network platform enterprises to effectively fulfill their management responsibilities, and urging radio transmission equipment sellers to conduct business activities in accordance with the prescribed requirements for radio transmission equipment model approval and sales filing, To promote the healthy development of the radio transmission equipment market.
